HealthierUS School Challenge

State wide competition - Seven D300 students from six of our HealthierUS School Challenge elementary schools won the ISBE drawing competition to have their nutritional artistic drawings featured in the State's Nutritional Calendar. Students drew pictures of their favorite nutritional food items which were selected by an ISBE review team for winning drawings to be featured in the calendar. D300 kids won 2 of the possible 12 month feature calendar artwork covers for the months of August 2010 and January 2011! Additionally, 5 kids won the possible 37 block spaces on the calendar to also have their artwork featured! D300's elementary school nurses coordinated the effort. The calendar is distributed to all schools and constituents involved with serving National School Lunch Program meals throughout the state.
